Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap)
Medicare Supplement plans are provided by private health insurance companies for Medicare beneficiaries. The benefits could help pay some of out-of-pocket costs not paid by Medicare Parts A and B . Medicare Supplement plans are same plan across the country so one insurance company’s Plan G will have the same benefits as another’s Plan G. Medicare Supplements exclude prescription drug coverage.
Medicare Advantage Part C
Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private health insurance companies for Medicare beneficiaries. If you qualify for or are already enrolled in Original Medicare, live in the plan service area you can choose to enroll in Medicare Part C also called Medicare Advantage covering hospital and medical benefits. Many plans cover prescription drugs, routine vision, routine dental and other benefits. Special Needs Plans for those with those with chronic health conditions plan always includes prescription drug coverage.
Medicare prescription drug Part D
Medicare prescription drug are offered by private health insurance companies for Medicare beneficiaries. There are variations in the coverage and cost sharing associated with plans. Some plans have deductibles & some do not. After you satisfy the deductible, you will pay a share of the costs according to the terms of your plan. Each Medicare Prescription Drug Plan has its own list of covered drugs (called a formulary). Medicare drug plans place drugs into different “tiers” on their formularies.
